Woolly Yarrow (left) and Gray Santolina (right) edge the path into a foothills rock garden. This photo, and the one below, originally appeared in an article in Sierra Heritage called "Foothill Rock Gardens -- A Tapestry of Color."
Stone cress is a rare and slow-growing rock garden plant, but its bright pink flowers, blooming in May and June, are worth the wait.
The blossoms of Sedum (top of photo) change from pink to coppery orange in the fall. Hardy asters bloom from September through October and are ideal as cut flowers. This photo originally appeared in an article in Sierra Heritage called "A Swash of Fall Color."

We will continue to add pictures to this collection. If you have any requests, let us know!
